SymSoft Releases ControlPanelGRC User and Role Change Analyzer
New Module Enables Security Administrators to Conduct Role Versioning, Document Reasons for User Changes in SAP SystemsMILWAUKEE – March 16, 2010 – SymSoft Corporation, a provider of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions for SAP® environments, today announced the release of ControlPanelGRC User and Role Change Analyzer. The new module, which is part of SymSoft's ControlPanelGRC second-generation suite of GRC solutions, for the first time provides security administrators with the ability to create additional documentation on the reasons changes were made on Users and provide versioning of Roles in SAP systems. It will be demonstrated with the entire ControlPanelGRC solution in Symmetry Corporation's Booth No. 1530 at the GRC 2010 in Orlando, Fla, a show focused on SAP GRC and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance issues. Symmetry Corporation is a ControlPanelGRC reseller and one of the premier exhibitors at the conference, which runs today through March 19. "Although change documents are available in SAP systems, they don't always paint the full picture of why a given change was made," said Scott Goolik, Chief Technology Officer at SymSoft. "SymSoft's User and Role Change Analyzer module allows security administrators to record and report on additional documentation for each User or Role change. Role changes are also versioned for easy comparison or retrieval." With User and Role Change Analyzer, security administrators can troubleshoot issues identified after a Role change migrates to production and can also revert to an older version of a Role. Security administrators can also drill down to the detail level to identify issues that led to a change being made, and if necessary, revert to the old Role. "This is important in situations where Role changes are made for one transaction and are found to adversely impact other transactions in the production environment," said Goolik. "With User and Role Change Analyzer, security administrators can pull up both the current and previous versions of the Role and do a comparison to identify the differences that led to the problem. Even if there are catastrophic problems, they can quickly revert to the old version of the Role in the system." ControlPanelGRC's embedded compliance and accelerated workflows improve data access and reporting to free security and technical associates from repetitive manual tasks that occupy too much time and energy so they can focus on other important SAP GRC issues. This newest module enables SymSoft to provide additional functionality to its already robust security administrator toolset. By opting for ControlPanelGRC User and Role Change Analyzer, security administrators can now better understand the reasons why changes are made, and also enjoy the agility of being able to revert to previous versions, if needed. This provides another GRC tool for security administrators to help manage risk in their IT environments.
