ControlPanelGRC Launches Always Audit Ready™ Series Paper on Segregation of Duties Compliance

“Five Signs a New Segregation of Duties (SoD) Compliance Strategy Needs to be Implemented” covers pain points and ideas to improve compliance program

MILWAUKEE – January 18,  2012 – ControlPanelGRC™, a provider of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) compliance automation solutions for SAP® environments, has announced the availability of a new white paper, “Five Signs a New Segregation of Duties Compliance Strategy Needs to be Implemented.” It is the first in a series of papers exploring top issues facing compliance executives in 2012.

The paper covers why the presence of certain conditions or triggers signal a need to change the way SoD compliance is managed:
1.    Inadequate, time-consuming manual controls
2.    A change in audit firm
3.    Cumbersome or expensive first generation GRC software
4.    Negative audit findings
5.    A “near miss” or bona fide incident

The paper also provides a checklist of must-have functionality for SoD compliance in 2012.

“A lot has happened in the decade since Sarbanes-Oxley was passed,” says Dan Wilhelms, President and Founder of SymSoft Corporation, ControlPanelGRC’s parent company.  “Our goal in creating this series of papers and other materials is to help the compliance community manage ever-increasing auditor demands while using technology to keep the total cost of compliance under control.  This first paper on SoD explores reasons current technology and tools are unmanageable, and includes strategies to help organizations be Always Audit-Ready.”

Many organizations have benefited from ControlPanelGRC’s SoD functionality.

According to Chad Wyckoff, CISA, CISM, Director of Security & IT Risk Services for Forest City Enterprises, “ControlPanelGRC has enabled our SAP Security and QA/QC teams to streamline their current manual IT processes and controls through automation.  The SAP Security team is now able to centrally automate approval workflow for user account/role maintenance requests for all SAP clients and integrate SoD assessments with these requests.”

The SoD paper in the Always Audit Ready™ series can be found at www.controlpanelgrc.com/sodwp
